SUBTEXT: Individual x Collective
Subtext is the 2026 identity for Otis MFA Exhibition show and associated programing. This title asks you to look closer and read deeply, between the lines, to find the subtext of each project. Halftone distortions and obstructions invite closer inspection.
This identity pulls from both digital and analog experiences with reading. The colors reference the actions of reading through highlighting: yellow for analog reading; blue for digital reading. The act of hightlighting brings what might belost forward. It puts a spotlight on the subtext.

Subtext Show
The show was a success with more than 200 attendees in opening night. We sold screen printed T-shirts, highlighters, and transparent tote bags.

Group website coded on Cargo bringing together our work for the show but also other projects completed during the MFA program for the Subtext class to live past the exhibition.
